Abstract | Surveyed 100 administrators in secondary schools. Administrators estimated that as many as 50 percent of students may not have adult advocates; advocates of additional 25 percent are relatively unskilled in advocacy attempts. Considering that presence of advocates increases student retention and academic success; suggests that exemplary programs be identified and modeled throughout the public school system. (Author/NB) |
